Doveton show needs volunteers

Dimity Barber

VOLUNTEERS are already organising this year's Doveton Show Day celebrations.

And they need your help.

Co-ordinator Sarah Northey said the team was looking for help with catering, booking stalls, staffing information booths, running activities and entertainment.

She said the show, which attracted more than 7000 last year, provided a low-cost alternative to the Melbourne Show.

This year's event will include music and dance performances, an animal nursery, amusements and rides, face painting, sporting activities, historical engine displays, showbags, market stalls, art and craft displays and workshops and food stalls.

"It is a great way to promote your service, business or community group as well as contribute positively to the Doveton community," Ms Northey said.

The show is on Sunday, September 21, from 10am to 4pm at Myuna Farm, 182 Kidds Rd, Details: Phone 9706 9944.
